Getting this car for my max bid is not even a pipedream.
I have to be very seriously punished for trading in my Mk1 for a fucking JetSki in 1989. The schmuck who bought it yanked the shift lever out of the transmission the first day he drove it. After me that car spent more time on a tow truck than on the road. I still miss my Mk1 with her sexy arches, shitty red paint, pain in the ass carburators that always leaked and the right headlight that was always misaligned. Damn it was a fun car. ![]() Cheers M.Samli Phoenix AZ Gaylant VR4 EVO III GSR (Stolen) Rallies are no place for traitors |

Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit you can reg them in Canada????
God damn I love that car. It's like a Corrado bonked a Kadett and the bastard child was raised by wolves in Tyrol. Good luck finding spares though. Bet it has lots of Italian "quirks" heh Skye www.rallyrace.net |

The one the was at Laughlin was beautiful. It appeared to be a bunch of rich guys out for fun. Wasn't flogging the car or driving fast. Alot of the bits under the car were all chromed. We were hanging out with their crew and the NZ crew at one stage start, and Rem had updates coming into his cell phone and we noticed the Delta was far back and asked them if they had a problem and their response was, "No, he's just slow." Their Mercedes service truck was pretty neat too.

You would have to be rich to run one. They are a pain in the ass to work on from what I've heard so were the Betas (and they were only FWD). It's hard enough to find parts for Betas these days (I was considering buying one on the cheap once). You have to remember too that the name says Lancia, but it's really just a fancy Fiat.
The car came from Japan, but it's not originally from Japan. It's got LHD. So it probably came from Europe originally. There is a sunset on safety requirements on importing cars into Canada. I thought it was around 15 years, but could be 20. NoCoast Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > The one the was at Laughlin was beautiful. That Delta looks irritatingly like one of the homologation specials except for the ABS, I seriously don't remember whether the homologation model came with the ABS or not.
Against all popular belief, Deltas are not really that difficult to work on (or under). In the US parts are nearly impossible to get but there is a very good pool of parts and bits in Eurp. One major problem we had back in those days was the suspension preparation and setup. When the suspension was fully articulated, we thought it was going to pop the cv joints. We had to use Baja style suspender limiting straps. The Delta at Ramada was more like a car that spent it's entire life in a climate controlled garage waiting to go to the burger joint car shows. Not only the driver didn't even come close to driving it at rally speeds, Friday night when we were partying like maniacs at the service park, the crew and the driver were cleaning the dust from their wheels using a detail brush. That in my book is a little extreme. Cheers M.Samli Phoenix AZ Gaylant VR4 EVO III GSR (Stolen) Rallies are no place for traitors |
