Thanks for the info. It's pretty cheap and needs a lot of this and that, but otherwise seems to be a decent deal if I manage to track down a windshield in time and on budget.
The windshields were still placed in with rubber gaskets in 1979? If that's the case I have experience with that style on early Volvo 140s. Changing it shouldn't be a chore at all.
I've been doing a fair bit of research and it seems as though that parts can be hard to scare up for these.. not that big of a deal I guess as long as it doesn't need to be fixed every couple weeks.
Thats a great tip about the injection and electronics. I'm sure that will come in handy.
With any luck the car will be in the driveway with a new windshield and safety soon. I'll keep you posted. As for improved performance.. I doubt the girlfriend will want it, but when I take/get it from her I sure will
