Predictions?
Large drop in Rally America National participation.
National 2WD will become a talent lacking towing show again (I'm not saying it was last year or past few even.)
SP will be the interesting place to watch. Evan will still whine about something.
Ken Block will still get beat by David Higgins for National Championship.
There will be no decent video or text based live updates from Rally America for the third year running.

Anders will keep building cool stuff that has little effect on drivers but makes everyone else's life a little easier.
2/3 of rookie drivers from 2013 will be completely unheard from in 2014.
Someone will try to make a reality TV show out of rallying and realize that there aren't any interesting enough personalities to do so.
Rally America will learn how to spell Championship




Myself, I plan to do three endurance races in the BMW, build a few roll cages, start doing some retail sales, crew at a few rallies, race a few hill climbs.

RA will have same amount of entries as last year.

People will realize that Rally WV is a good event and will get more cars and have a better event then last year.

Magnum Opus will get some new blood by introducing rally moto to MI bikers. Ive been working over a few locals from lucky thumb motor cycle club.

@wd will have a couple good rallies with some big 2wd names being able to dook it out. Agree on the tow championship for all classes.

SP will die out and guys will run as open cars to get away from the bs rules.

Evan Cline will run SD,100acre,STPR and LSPR. just enough to make other tow champions whine because he took there points away! He will also win the reginal championship again and make other regional guys whine because he is double entered R/N !

Block will get his championship and Pastrana will find out that by leaving he is now 4th fast at best at any given rally.

I will run 4 or 5 events and finaly start to under stand notes enough to get a regional stage win and maybe even a podium.

There will be a new driver at every rally this year. Both RA and Nasa!

I hope good things. after i move to NC im going to do what i can to get into the rally scene over there. Then maybe later on find a new platform and build it. im lookin at rwd set ups. or maybe save $$ and buy one.

I think as long as the Subaru contigency is still around, SP will still be around. The payouts for those guys is pretty excellent.

I'll be getting to grips with my new Leggy. Will try out 100AW in open class (stock 2.2T engine with a downpipe... that's it) and see how it is. Manual brakes, proper plated diffs and the 4.44 gearbox will take some getting used to.

Hoping for STPR or do Tall Pines in November.

I'm a gnats whisker away from buying a car. I will be doing Empire, the OPRC events, and Tall Pines (money already squirreled away).

I will not be doing a kickstarter to fund my efforts.

CARS will continue to baffle with it's regulations (what if I want to run a 7 cylinder motor; what have you got against that prime number?).

Rallies will host


Belt sander drag races at Parc Expose and Service areas to increase attendance numbers. The IBDA has already been contacted and they are adding locations to their calendar.

Why limit them to service areas? Real roads real fast! Should be internatioanl belt sander rally racer addition!

Whats the codrivers job?

How would you class them? Limit the extention cord to 16 gage if over 4" wide belt?

But then they just complain about being outspent. Some people will always find a reason to complain. There's guys in Subarus that complain about PGT and gearboxes, then comes SP so they complain about brake systems, can only imagine what they would complain about in Open class. They also complain about free Subaru money and not getting enough publicity for their mediocre performance. Yes, I am specifically thinking of epic whiner Evan and a little bit of Keeney and a little bit of Moro tossed in there.

I've seen first hand the money spree that can happen in open class. I refer to it constantly, but there was an awesome run on Rocket Rally diff comps and maps here in Colorado once one person upgraded to that, everyone felt they had to to remain competitive with it. I think four cars all within a one month period went to it. That's something like $15K+ spent...

The SP money is no where near as good as in the past. You could save that in just the cost of front bumper inserts!

I like the idea of a cheaper class but theres no changing rally and deffinatly not in 2014. So I say run open and run as fast as you can. Im coming to the conclusion that its not 2wd verses awd, no turbo, turbo. To me its about being able to drive fast regardless of car.

Seems that fast drivers are faster then the average driver regardless of what there driving. Reeves is stupid fast. Why? I believe its because he is used to going stupid fast. Us meer mortols just dont know how to be confortable at those speeds.

I will admit oval track racing is easier to get up to speed. Still super hard to win but easier to set good lap times. Rally is just damn hard to be stupid fast.

To get back a little on topic. In 2014 an OL or 2wd will podium at least 4 events.
There will be a new fast guy to talk about. Probably from eur.

curious to see if cars extending seat life brings in or back competitors complaining about it. as for me hope to be on stage june. seam welding is done, time to insert integra stuffs and drive to cagingst
