You can get terry springs from most racing places for half the price of those sparco ones if you're not some snob that worries about brand names.
For example: http://www.pegasusautoracing.com/productdetails.asp?RecId=756 |

Sube sells the Sparco stuff for $27 for the pair including mounting hardware. Is it worth saving $10 and risk the spring stretch out after 10 bumps ? Not to me, I'd rather spend a few bucks more and get the proven quality stuff and do the job once instead of buying the cheap stuff, save $10 and redo it later and try to forgt the aggravation I went through when the cheap stuff failed. I have been using the same Sparco stuff since 2003, didn't stretch a bit, keep in mind, I do CRS rallies where jumps yumps and dips are dime a dozen and I have a heavy trunk lid (shit that didn't sound right). Are the stock latches worth a shit on a hatch back when you're wacking the crap out of your car at speed? That is all ![]() Andrew M Onterrible 30ish |

That's not a stupid question.
On mine I eliminated the trunk latch, the lid gets a wee bit bumpedy bumpedy when the car is at speed over yumps and water bars, oh wait we don't have water bars anymore thanks to saboteur putaines de bordel premier categorie. New pic. Almost done. Waiting on one serpentine belt and have to rewire some shit for the alternator. Had hoped to drive it today, but couldn't find a belt. Thankfully a friend who works at Toyota happened to ask me what I was doing tonight and I told him and he was able to source one, but not until tomorrow.
The original power wire for the alternator is so nasty. Broken and exposed in multiple places. Unfortunately, the said power wire also appears to power some of the other stuff up front, mainly the fans, possibly lights, and the VAM. I can't wait to take all this stuff back off and clean up/redo a bunch of the wiring in the car and repaint the interior and under hood. Probably over next winter, or maybe during one of the short breaks in the hill climb season over the summer. Grant Hughes |

Just got a couple e-mails asking if I was in,that Stig was on board, they're estimating 1000HP+, and the entire car was rebuilt. Sure hope it's a go - I never did go to the top! So I really want to go early and drive it to see it for myself. Unless something comes up family wise I'm should be good to go though. (being a new dad really re-prioritizes ones life!) If your car is there, and I'm there we should try to get the two cars together for a photo shoot... Seeing an RS200evo and an RS500 together on Pikes Peak would be a damn cool pic. Chad - sent you a PM a while back after seeing your name on the site... I'm hoping to get my car build started, and I'm already signed up for race school in May - so I gotta get the 505 sorted for that. Rabin |

Fired it up last night. Need to wire in at least oil pressure, boost, and water temp gauges before I take it out. Also have a few random hose clamps that are dripping coolant. Revved to about 6000 in the video. Those Chuck W motor mounts hold the engine solid! Flocked the dash this morning and will be installing gauges tonight.
