what I did on the rallycar today (ok, what I paid someone to do)

Ok y'all

Here are some spy photos of the cage going into my '78 Volvo 242, AKA "the midnight pumpkin". The work is being done by John the evil genius Pagel in beautiful Davis Ca. I am flying a bit solo, (no mentor) and would appreciate any helpful comments, especially if you know what you are talking about...

There will be an X on the roof, and the door bar X's will be completed, and a dash bar is going in too.

Thanks for the help everyone, -Berto

Hard to tell from one pic but it kinda looks like the front laterals are a long ways from the sides of the car. Get me some more pics, email them if you like.

If they are already "hosted" someplace the type .

In fact that's how you do "bold" then the same with a / in front of the b
Same with underline then the[/u and of course a ]

Same with Italic and then the [/i ]

I hate to say it but I don't particularly like what I'm seeing so far. Post up some more pics. Like Gene said, side laterals ar too far from body, main hoop diagonal is too far in towards the middle of the hoop, door bars are mounted too high on main hoop. Not that any of these things are necessarily deal breakers, they just could be better. Pardon my frankness, but I'm a picky shit when it comes to rollcages.

yeah

I knew it looked a bit suspect.

I am a bit bummed because I knew all that should have been done the way you say-Al, and I trusted this guy when he told me he knew what he was doing. He also did stuff I asked him not to and didn't do stuff I did ask him to do.

Unlike the title, I have not paid him yet, but I guess I'm going to and just get my car back and cut out the crap. Take home lesson; be a good scientist and get multiple data points, and never trust anyone who says they know what they are doing.

Dave, yeah, go ahead and pick the shit, its the only way to get it right. I wish I could have taken it to you.

Just get that thing away from the "evil genius" and I'll fix it when the rear shock turrets go in.

Hard to tell for sure in the pictures, but it doesn't look like a great job. Do the welds on the top of the main hoop go all the way around or are they just on he parts we can see?
