Is the car in Davis or Mill Valley? If it's in Davis, I can swing by and take a look at it on Friday, as I'm heading through there that day. If it's in Mill Valley, I can probably look at it Sunday or Monday. John Pagel's a roadrace guy - I don't think he knows anything about rally cages.

Give me a call. Haight tree uno, too tree for, ate sebben too sicks

It's actually sitting outside my shop in San Leandro right now so I can use it for a template on the rear shock turrets. That's only about 30 min from you.

FOR SALE:

Pre-fit rollcage for volvo 242. Available in easy-to install cut up chunks. Might, just maybe, pass scrutineering if you bring knee-pads, a wig and chap stick. Price: changes with rate for scrap steel. Pick up: the dumpster at Tim's shop.

Very sorry to hear of the cage ending. It's kind of hard to imagine a so called professional or expert screwing something up that badly. Chin up little buckeroo and keep moving forward.

What is that. Is that what you paid the guy to do Al? I hope you didn't pay up front. I'd expect that from a fucking 14 year old in high school doing it for free, but I'd probably bill the builder for the time spent having to cut it out. Sorry, that is in no way acceptable work.

LMAO, I think this one is my favorite:

The one lost weld in the middle that ends up nowhere near a junction. Did they have a helmet or were they just trying to weld by feel and got lost?

Man, that looks like something I would do after a PBR binge! No, mine would look better. I'd at least fill in the hole with half a spool of wire. smiling smiley

I've seen this work before...yeah...definately.

This is the kinda thing you get when you liquor up a Tedneck on SoCo, turn the autodimming helmet to full dark, spin him around 5 times and then every time he strikes an arc, either hit 'em in the ass with a stun gun or yell "The Olsen twins are here and they're nekkid."

Under those conditions I'd say it looks pretty good.

I'd logbook it.

She's screamn' fer eet!

yeah, it really gives me a headache just thinking about it. I might have to bill him for the time at the shrink I spent crying about my fucked up roll cage experience, too.

I would definitely make the local NASA road race Chief Scrutineer and safety steward aware of this guys construction techniques . Maybe pack that whole cage over to the next track day or race with his name on it.

Hey atleast it's America: SUE! That man shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a welder. You realy had to CUT it out? You could kick apart that roll cage, even the "completed welds look terrible. I've seriously done better welds without looking.
