Where did the pinch rail go? I see that you welded a box there, but did you hide the pinch rail INSIDE the box? I'm so confused...

Dave I think the pinch weld is inside the box which will make future anchoring the car on a frame machine interesting.

Sure there are other ways to do it, but a pinch weld clamp is definately the quickest.

Does that mean you had to slit the tube lengthwise to put it over the pinchrail? That disturbs my lazy...

ya i put the tube on my cnc table and slit in half And formed it over the pinch weld if need be straiting i can just weld a lip on it that would be no problem but i think the way that it is boxed in it should withstand 10 times the force of it with out that.

Looks very nice. I would like to get one, or make my own, when I build up the VW Golf V2.0

hot damn lookin good smiling smiley

I'm getting excited to start building the rest of the car... doowops for sure. I was hoping for hood, but it's just not gonna be possible given the state of the car at this time (see above photos hehe).

Tom B I'd like to have a chat with you about the dash in your rabbit. I am basically planning to make a custom dash and wanted your opinion on some things...

Chris, I wouldn't do the fabbed dash...its just not worth the effort involved, especially when effort can be put into other more important places. It was good for the neat factor, but it was really just a pain in the ass, the factory dash does much better for defrosting and is pretty light to boot.

BTW, I'll be ready for Doo Wops too.

well hear are the front mounts we are going to b e going early on the car rust has
bin no fun. but over all for its age and its purpose this thing is going to be
mean!!!!!! As you can see the original reinforcements where a total joke and the
front cage mount is welded to thin skin laid over the tower. Ha ha well I solved
all that fun stuff and will look beautiful with a hefty coat of white epoxy.

I went and checked the car out again in person today and man I'm really happy with the work William has done.

All the shell prep I wanted to get done, and some extras! Hopefully have it home here in a week or two more and start the paint work and re-assembly.
