Ah, most of what is done is pictured... a couple of floor rust spots patched.

We'll have some new ones with the fuel cell installed I hope, and the reinforcing on the front crumple zones in the frame rails.

After that it's time for paint work.

How many additional covers for the cell (the bag or plastic tank being the cell) is the current approved number?
Is it like these matryoshka dolls?

One or two , depending on how and where the cell is installed.

I'm surprised you haven't machined a set of those dolls out of unobtanium or something neat. smiling smiley

I was hoping, of course, that since the FIA rules seems to have adopted in whole cloth, that their interpretation would be the definitive answer.
In other words say for example I have a FIA cell installed exactly as was done in the exact same body that that precedent would carry enough weight to be approved.

No unubtainium here, I's a lowly club guy through and through.

yeah Gene you will be able to give it your blessing (I still need a log book hehe) -- you saw it in my old car right?

Doug Chase installed the thing the first time... Basically some fancy schmancy sheet metal covers that he bent up to enclose the cell and the filler neck, per the regs... I passed tech with that setup for events it was in my car... I installed it right after Doowops 2007.

The only time I ever see your car is being towed out of tech cuz it won't run or on the trailer wrecked when it did run smiling smiley But it must have passed tech in Oregon and if Doug did it should be no problemo.

ouch Gene why ya always gotta go there... For the record I've never had to tow it out of tech smiling smiley

Last four events have been pretty rough, for sure... but 2006 was good, finshed everything I started except for doowops, which I've never finished both days of in the history of my attempts at that event. Here's hoping we break the streak in 2009

You'll make both both days, and finish both days. I have total faith in you for '09, after all no one has an endless supply of bad luck.

Got laid off yesterday so the build is on hold, but I don't want it to sit so long that it isn't legal anymore

Timm, Jason, Chris and the Bros will hopefully all be ready enough to log in one trip. I don't think we have any earth shattering rule changes next year anyway.
