I would think there would be more of a market for a front subframe for the subarus. Those never seemed to last more than a 2 or 3 events before they start to get tweaked.

Really? Of all the Subarus I've worked on, including Pat Richard's, I've never had any trouble with the front. Though, I'm sure Pat has found a way to bend one in the meantime. The rears tend to collect damage more easily, either by stone damage to exposed brackets or damage due to clobbering something with the wheels which bends the lateral arm and sometimes the mounting point in the crossmember.

Wait a while. Gotta make one and see if revisions are needed, then there's the choice of materials, like CrMo or just DOM, MIG or TIG.
Common man products take time to nail everything down.

I'd be in. depending on pricing.

Make it out of just DOM...

It's been in my "to do" list forever just never gotten around to it!

Make it work with the stock diffs! We already have an upgrade path with the R180 diffs.

That's what I'm telling him. A teeenie bit more wall thickness and you can have the same strength.

Absolutely. Don't know what this talk of Stuprah diffs into Sub-a-rats is all about.

DOM is cheap, easy to work with, and readily available.

You could also MIG 90% of the thing, which brings down costs, and time invested!

At the end of the day it's going to get covered in 1/4 of mud, so function over form.

However, i personally would like to see the finished piece get a nice white Powdercoating,

I'd design it to work with the stock Subaru diffs as well, but keep the Supra diff as an idea. The Subaru rear diffs aren't rear drive friendly. I suppose the saved cost of the diff would be hugely increased by the added cost of the custom stub shafts and custom halfsafts and such. But you never know when someone might get the urge to do something crazy like that. It'd also work well for making a Subaru Baja type car that you could get crazy travel out of with the 930 joints.
