Missed interpreted the part about plugging the minis. Though he was plugging the holes in the heads.
John, no offense meant on your typing skillz. I'm not trying to be a grammar nazi. I actually like your style of communication, it's a nice break from the normal text crap I see all day.
William, continue with your awesome project... Imma idiot.

Okay, the injectors are in the head, which was a simple enough answer...my apologies for not remembering some minutia posted in 10 pages worth of stream of consciousness fragments. I am still really confused by using an ITB setup with a MAF sensor and your plenum. Does a Ranger intake manifold not fit under the hood? Dollars to donuts (note: this is a figure of speech just like the saying “I’ll bet”) it would make the same power and better torque for a lot less work. The whole point of ITB’s is to get short low restriction intake runners for a high rpm NA engine. Putting a restrictive plenum and MAF meter up stream negates any benefit they would have.

Using motorcycle ITB’s is not a bad idea by any means. If you pick an ITB rack that is more adaptable say one from a GSXR1000 or Hayabusa you do get a host of benefits on the cheap. They’re big enough to support ~210hp normally aspirated, replaceable TPS, are as cheap as CBR stuff, and have good injectors already in them.

the ranger intake I like that theres not a second set of butterflies in it and nice long runners just its about 5
inches total hight above the head.

I know the maff is not proper but its simple, theres not a sensor change in the harness I don't care if its
not perfect its easy then we move to proper down the road. for some of the itb covers they have a
option for 80 and 100 mm opening I'm at about 75 its not going to be that bad, if I go too big I might
run in too velocity problems for the maff.

I don't want injectors in the itb I don't want too rewire anything or new hoses I don't have to do any of
that, All the stock wires fuel everything still fits and works.

the 44 mm should be more than enough for 210, its rpm that becomes the question, I'm not going to touch
10000 for a wile so I'm not too concerned

my phone dose not have spell check its auto correct I see I offended people with that and if you have a
problem with it you can get fucked. I post because I like the feed back not the complaining. I'm not good
with English sorry, words in my mind don't make sense I have remember them not use by second nature.

If you're posting pics from your phone, you are doing a heck of a lot better than I am.
Tim: The plenum should still be a net power gain over just the ITB's. The bigger the plenum, the more power you make (generally). The formula car that I work on (for the last 6 years) uses a CRF450 motor, with a 3L plenum. We would go bigger but starting becomes very difficult due to the 20mm restrictor.
Moving the ITB's upstream of the plenum would be more beneficial. But that could be tried later on down the road.
In my experience, the length of the runners has a much bigger effect than the restrictions upstream. The main problem with short runners are their (generally) peaky power curves.

For all the people on the idea that the factory intake manifolds are going to be better off... at least English tuners have found that the factory IMs are the single biggest restriction to the Duratec motors making decent power. Now, I don't know if there's some magic manifold for the Duratec that's the one exception or something (I wouldn't lay money on the Ranger IM being it if there were one but hey, whatta I know?) but this... fawk, it's a damn bunch of tubes with butterflies in the mix to control the airflow, it ain't rocket surgery. MAF ahead of the whole thing, well sure yeah, it's going to compromise throttle response a bit compared to having some fancy ass standalone, but it still should work. 3" MAF is going to flow a lot more than any two of those butterflies and it's not like it's going to be sucking full airflow through more one at a time.

I wunner if the plenum's big enough to dampen out pulses from individual ports enough for the MAF to be happy, or if the MAF is responsive enough to care, but hey, one way to find out.

http://www.sbdev.co.uk/Duratec/Duratec%20Basic%20Taper%20throttle%20kit.htm
this is what I want and they are making 203 hp 173 lbs on intake and tunning alone
this is good shit but it comes with a hefty price tag, no internals! just throw the
motor in the trash and get another one not a bad investment if you never have to
buy it again.

there are some good duratec aticals in there, SBD has been on top of duratec
the day thay came off the asembly line.

Im still alive I got a bad ulcer caused from a old surgery i puked up over a quart of blood alone.
by the time it was at is worst i was at a red blood count of 17 thats over 70% low on blood i
was blacking out just standing up and my heart would get too 180 just walking. I did black out
for a few hrs on the bathroom floor guess there was a chance I could have never woken up sad smiley

it was nice to see every one at the rally in the pits every one was concerned and asked if i was
ok made me feel better just being there.

little about the focus its back in the shop and the radiator and all is mounted and its about to start
running soon im not posting anything till its drifting around!

hear is some fun shit thought im duratec nuts and hears the last thing i picked up for me and my buds
at $200 a motor winking smiley and theres itbs out for them so if you know any one at Jenve let me know haha!

Duratec 3.5 v6 they make 265 hp and 250 lbs and that 87 gas. 92 they make little over 300 and
another 60 hp or so with headers and itbs I am in love! yes the 4 banger is little more ideal but for
how little you have to do to get 300 hp is sweet! around 400 bucks every time you need a fresh motor
Also they have been making 500 hp with 12 lbs of boost and lasting on the 3.7s There foot print is smaller than the duratec 2.5 no relation.

these are my subie arms but the ford will have something similar.

Hey..remember this awesome thread-guys?

Hope this hasn't fizzled...looking at Williams links ..looks like he's busy with Subie stuff..I want to add a "groan" here-but understand $$ is $$..gotta do what you need to get moneys..and many of those guys got loads of it...

No offense to the Subie/Evo crowd but personally I have little interest in the $$ AWD stuff...

2wd is where it's at!

Grassroots and like William said-there are Metric SHIT Tons of these in boneyards-go drive down the street for 5 minutes-you'll only pass about 12 of them...

Here's a reminder of his RWD Focus Facebook link-maybe we can pester him some more smiling smiley

https://www.facebook.com/RSF2000

Hope you are healthy and all is well William!

And remember everyone..

Go Ford!

(North) 'Merica! Fuck Yeah!

2wd rules!

I'm leaning against it as im typing i have a new rack and new knuckles and the
plan now is to mirror the front towers in the back and use the same shock, knuckle
,and arms front and rear. It should prove to be easier than all my original ideas.
Keep It Simple Stupid, it would be this or solid axle im not against them but the
oooo ahhh factor gos little further with the IRS.

Thanks for bring it up its not dead its slow and no funds or time. I would love if
some one wanted to jump in and split the toyness fun another set of hands that
loves ford and building fun stuff and has little money. One man show dose not work
well so we will see I need to get my wagon in too and get its 18 inch lift kit for the
Bajabaru project

oo i did get a fiberglass hood a friend made for me but he said i cant touch it till the
car is moving, they say the Billtnami will wreck it.

Sounds interesting..redundancy with the suspension parts is nice..and rear steer FTW!

Just kidding...Obviously you'll "lock" the knuckles somehow.

Will you get the travel you're after with the front arms in the back?

Still using explorer diff or something else?
