the tires look like 245 on these tarmac setups. wonder if I could stuff 235 under the rear without cutting up everything

Ha ha, wide wheels and Ford Anglias brings back memories of this old TV advert from when I was a lad.

looks like I may have found the best adapter plate to solve the t5 to duratec problem
a company called MULFAB in england mounts a adapter to the tailend of mt75 bell to mount a t5 gear box.

If you go T5, what gearset do you plan on using? I heard that the stock T5 ratios are good for a turbo 4 banger but not a N/A one...

talked to a buddy that is into mazdas he thought a 2010 Miata 6 speed trans should be able to mount up to a 2.3 duratec that could solve cobleing things to gether and getting oddball parts and make build easier
question does 2.0 have same trans bolt pattern as 2.3 duratec?

That would help if you were building a FWD car...

Ha. Miata "6 speed" not "Miata 6". My bad.

There was a ton of discussion about this topic a few months to year or two ago. Duratec into a RX7 discussion as I recall.

2010 2.3 duratec out of a ranger on the engine stand and ready for surgery
2010 mx5 Miata 6 speed trans in shipping can't wait
found a the info I could and these two should bolt up nicely just hope flywheel is not problematic
so now 6th gear at 9k rpm=150mph, gotta do some more looking at wheel and tires

Drew,

I had been considering that combo for a B-GT, but couldn't find a transmission for less then 1500... what did you pay if you don't mind sharing with the class...

9k RPM out of a 2.3L duratec is going to take some cash. What I have read says the ranger crank does not like much over 7,250. If you want to spin that fast you are going to have to spring for one of the steel Mazda cranks, which I do not know if it came in the 2.3L displacement, or aftermarket. Check out SBD or Cosworth.

either way "yes I will have a strong steel crank"
