I didn't see you offering to bring her to BC though?

You also don't see it ruled out.

Hell I'll even take you out to the restaurant of your choice in Vancouver!

We can chat about it....

The coachwork is mostly ready for whatever color(s) one may wish to apply.

Glass is not in.

Here's a bump to the top..... She's got a HUGE turbo out of some goddamned John Deere or some ish in it now. As if the SOB wasn't fast enough before......

Still needs paint.... Body needs to be tied to the cage... Glass isn't in.

She runs and drives.... I've used her to paint a pair of rallytires when I see fit to but now she needs another tank of 100LL so a trip to the airport.

Have you got a screen over the turbo so you don't suck in wimin and children? Sure be nice to see this one back on stage, and you too.

Intake plumbing needs to get done too...... In my spare time. I have everything to do it but lack the will to do so.

I'd love to be out there too... Keep the hotshoes honest with my old junk. You've seen how that's worked out.

I still want this on so many levels!

Although I'm not sure how owning a car you idolized when first getting into rally would work out. Would it be as awesome as you had always made it be in your head?

In this case I do believe so. smiling smiley

Only awesome if you're up for driving it as the savage it takes to get the most out of it.

Pussy-foot it and you'll play the passenger as you go straight off the road.

What's sooo fun is that all that is good about a 240... or any other well done rear-driver works just that much better. Being able to accelerate from 100mph? There are a few who will cry about this not being needed.... They need to grow a pair. Rally isn't for everyone. Bwahahahahaha!!!

The legend of the fire breathing monster to me includes this crazy mechanic guy that drove it like his britches were on fire. Anyone else driving it would be someone driving John Lanes old car, not that its a bad thing, it's just virtually impossible shit kickers to fill and drive it like it should.

Hi Mr. Lane,

Just curious, what are the costs/work involved in getting the car stage ready?

Even at $18K, sounds a bit rich - Just sayin'.

I got less than $2K for the Colt with Sparco Corsa's, weber idf's, decent amount of spares, current belts, etc. It was complete and needed a simple engine rebuild.

I am NOT comparing the two cars but at 9 times as much money, without glass, turbo plumbing, etc... seems rich.

Didn't a sweet and never bent Washington Xratty sell for sub $16K last year.

Not trying to be a dick, and just wondering about real figures to get it stage ready for say... PFR.

I don't care what you paid for a pile of shit Colt. This car is not a pile of shit Colt and the price just went to $30,000 for you! Where is that 'neener'smiley?
An X-Ratty is what it is. You want one? Go buy it and deal with the animals you'll get to trying to keep it on the road.
I'm not that excited about parting with my car and will only sell it to the right person for the right money. Don't like my figure but are in the market for a car.... Go buy someone else's garbage that will need to be fully developed + get to unwind years of Elroy's efforts with it.
Real figures? Who is doing the work? Most of it is time and materials. It could be done in a day of work. A windshield is $200. Paint... Whatever color anyone wishes for at the bodyshop of his choosing. Seats? Don't they all get to have seats with an expiration date today just like belts? I sure feel safer. (rolls eyes)
Intake plumbing is easy... I just haven't cared enough to do it. It may take me an hour to get from the turbo to the air filter.

Er, umm, sure could see that coming. Easy John, it's a valid question for someone that doesn't know what you've spent on the old girl. Btw, we don't enforce or require the FIA tag on seats for your car.

I'll buy your entry for next years Olympus if you get it back together sir!! We miss you and the sonic rock throwing.

I'll throw in use of my head and neck system if Gene is covering entry.
