Car found.
240 Volvo. Already has nearly everything needed. Needs cage up-dates or re-do. Borg Warner GM T5. Toyota 8" LSD axle ready to plop in. JVAB suspension 50mm fronts, coilover rear. Towers and link boxes ready to go in.
Big nice brakes, dual masters...big oil cooler, remote filter..

Just need to make it non-turbo.
And to that end I have already started on a 530 head.
Generous donor gets a share in it and we need to write into things that he's absolved from any liability but retains FUTURE rights.

Appropriate color for cooperative enterprise: Red.

Sweet John. That car is perfect for this. I currently have my mom working on the "Club" paperwork.

Probably just need to pay dues. Was $100 what everyone sorta decided on?

a though if we found a set of sponsors for parts and what not for the rental program
do 6 of the same car and then the exposure of a club program what have you, might
make it worth wile for a company to give up goods and cash?

just a thought if i had the funds id have 5 focus's waiting to be rented.

Robert, don't take it personally. This car is just more work than I can deal with. I'm totally fine letting it go to serve the greater good, as long as the club is legit.

Doesn't that go against the ethos of the club idea that was hashed out earlier in the thread?

My initial tought for a club car:

Have a car available for hardworking rally folks that may want to drive again, Like Gene, Ben, John, ect.

Have a car available for long time volunteer deserving/wanting the chance to drive.

Have a car available for local competitors for use when they wad their car.

Have a car available for out of area rally anarchists deserving of the use of the car.

Letting a newb use it? not sure that is OK, would need to be a level headed person with a seasoned co-driver, and they must have put forth effort towards the end goal of the car.

Paying $100 in dues does not allow use of the car.

You break it, you fix it kind of deal.

What am I missing?
