i did that with my bell and an old peltor and i couldn't hear shit.

Yep, got the ear cups in there too. Just had to chisel away some of the foam. I'll take some pictures tonight.

As for not being able to hear. Were you using the ear cups? I am actually hard of hearing (wear two hearing aids) and the audio with the cups grafted into the helmet were no different than the Peltor. Nice and crisp, with plenty of adjustment room off the intercom. Couldn't be happier.
