Fellow rally anarchists, being a career man with penske and wanting to get as much rallying with the least amount of travel in where the fawk in murica is the best centralized location to get alotta good rallys in?

The average rally driver in 2013 did 2.2 rallies. So, really, you don't need 10 rallies near you, most likely. Pick a spot with three and there are good odds you'll be happy.

Grassroots rally. It's what I think about.

honestly im pretty lame ass just saved up forever to do this rally thing. ocd type that is ready to live the dream say. id like to be near fishable/ wake surfable lakes all year round. thats it really, laid back unless im behind a wheel on dirt (the dream) i checked lake tahoe realty, pretty pricey for what you get but compared to work camp edmonton its pretty cheap.

like i said its a down the road thing and the next big thing in rally constantly changes, hell, maybe ill get on stage, do a weekend and not enjoy it...doubt that though, did a 680 km tsd in rocky mountain house alberta in march and had a smile on my face for a month driving relatively conservative. thats y i think i could make it down there. not alotta hobbies soaking up my income, no kids, no bad habits, even booze. geez im boring..

Idaho, Oregon, washington are all great areas.

I'm in pendleton, 3 hours from just about any nw rally. NHA hillclimbs are 100$ and a lot of cheap fun. Some really good job opportunities in east oregon, and boise areas. 2 weeks vacation may not be govt mandated... (lol) but any company worth working for will offer it.

Adam may snub 50k a year, and think a $400k house is a good deal, but I support my family of 5 in such a manner that my wife may be a stay at home mom and I still manage to play with cars on a 55k a year income (while also thinking about retrement). To top it off, I didn't need the Govt to step in and demand my vacation for me.

Adam if I'm reading your above statement correctly...- Mom and dad paid for housing, schooling, and basic necessities, and you are proud that you paid for a few car parts and a couple vacations to play with cars in the woods?

I'm a bit partial to Oregon. If you can stand the big(ish) city, Freightliner treats their employees well. I know a few that are techs for the company, making engineering wage for turning wrenches. Sounds like the dream job to me smiling smiley

Freightliner is located in Portland, and if you're German you have a much better chance of getting hired.

working on the big stuff is much nicer than creature comfort cram everything in ville. built to work on and not being paid by the job eases the stress come slow season. funny thing about germans, i inquired about becoming an auto tech over there and let them know i was a canadian journeyman. zero credit, start at the bottom wrung.

The twisting of words is strong with this one. I explained that I personally did not feel that DOLLAR to DOLLAR, you could afford the same standard of living with the same job elsewhere. Nothing more, nothing less. I also didn't say it couldn't be done.

You can read into what I said however you want. I don't particularily feel the need to justify what I've done or how I've done it. Needless to say, I'm content with my place in life, other people's views on it are pretty irrelevant (actually, completely irrelevant).

I will say though, to not be "good" with your place in life or to look down on people that didn't have to scrape for every little thing, must be hard carrying that large of a chip on your shoulder.
