"I'd be careful about alienating hard working, solid progressives that you may in future depend on by repeating tired, hackney, thoughtless Right wing extremist cliche bullshit straight off of hate-forums and the AM Radio.

I'll help anyone except people that hate people mindlessly."

-JVL

So yeah. Hahahaha hypocrite.

So yeah. Hahahaha hypocrite.

Who am I hating?

You ignoring the slander you wrote that that was a gentle reminder to think about?

I'll help anybody except people that hate mindlessly.
Some of the guys I really enjoy working with and talking with are:
current marine helicopter pilot
current Army or hair farce mechanic
just out Marine rifelman (2 tours in Afganistan)
retired career Marine who was also a recruiter for years

these guys know me and my personal and political beliefs but they're honest guys, and we talk some about cars but also about history, about how things haven't changed an awful lot, and about who in the country benefits from their long and often boring work that is sometimes dangerous...

Their job is something I would have never chosen.
But they're not racists, they're not bigoted, they are honest why they joined, and they all know it was for their own personal reasons...

This thread is supposed to be about a heavy equipment mechanic wondering about moving from Canada--and specifically the oil driven boom economy of Alberta, to someplace different...
He's bright enough to know good solid tongue-in-cheek talk which has a big element of truth in it, just stated humorously, but pretty true..

That makes you slander me calling me a hypocrite?

That's pretty good.

I called you a hypocrite because you can jab politics and religion just fine, but god forbid someone else having a go at it. Go ahead and quote all my "hatred" from that thread lol. You won't find a hateful bone in my body.

You are correct though. This thread was about a Canadian mechanic kicking around the idea of picking up and moving to a rally friendly area here in the US. Myself along with a good handful of others actually listed states or areas based on what he was looking for. Unless I missed it, I didn't read one post of yours actually pointing him to a rally friendly or economically stable region. Unless your red vs blue breakdown was your attempt? I guess I missed Jeremy's criteria of "bible thumping" areas or political stance. But again, you can't answer or engage in a simple format without gouging every single person that posts. Especially people who have lived the lifestyle or have a more knowledgable example than yourself.

I enjoy watching the products you put out John. Most of the time you put out a huge amount of knowledgable insight, built around experience and actual data or R&D stuffs. I myself was extremely excited to work with you on suspension for my car. Until recent. I can respect the work that you put out there being as its had enough proven results to back it up and well, it's nice shit. I can't get past all the arguing though when a difference of opinioon comes up. Ha! Maybe that's why SS is "dying." Different topic I know....

I made a map so you can see where the best areas are. Northeast seems to be the area, right around Montreal... If I had a choice I'd pick the southwest cause I like the geology and beaches nearby.

Rallys in US/Canada

There's a lot more than I thought there were after I mapped it all out... I just wish there were more in the middle of the US...

Have you ever been to the southwest?
Not a bad place to visit, but would never want to live there.

Canada is the bomb. Montreal would be my first choice. Ottawa is closer to more rallies, but it's Ottawa (I kid. But if you're a political junky like I am, might be fun). Where I am in Toronto works great. Lots of rallies a day or less drive.

Last time I looked at a map, ON was not quite yet in the Central US.....LOL. But it is a great locale for rallying in North America....and has been for quite a while.

I'm confused. Is Ottawa a county in Minnesota? Or is that Ontario?
Isn't Toronto a Detroit suburb? What country is that in anyhow?

Sure the southwest is hot, but as a geologist... the area is so damn interesting; canyons, mountains, salt plains, the works. Plus being a couple (2-4) hours away from the beaches instead of 12-15 hours is a plus in my book.

Well, coming from Salem, of course. smiling smiley
The heat isn't really a big deal breaker in my book, something about the attitude of the people and especially the whole government over reaching control of everything in California. Oh, and the huge commutes. Everyone I know in Socal spends an hour in their car daily commuting.

How about:

everybody just shut the fuck up and build a rally car...

or another car, or some kewl shocks, or help out an event, go outside, whatever... and enter... like in an event...of some kind... somewhere.... anywhere... and post something about that....

Fucking Days-of-our-Goddamn-Rally-Lives up in here. Everything but the fucking Tampon commercials...
