JVAB for RS 2.5

Well i got my JVAB super BitchN coilovers about 2 weeks days ago. so far I've won my last 3 days of racing (rallycross .. waiting for Idaho rally eagerly) , $300 in subaru contingency and a nice lil trophy.

What makes these coilovers so Super? and so Bitch'N well they are Green. yep patented Green paint makes you go super fast and win races.

I noticed at my rally cross Sunday people were complaining about how rough the course was, I didn't notice. thumbs up smiley the spring rates + valving is really *Magical* your tires stay on the ground and relatively level at all times, even if your chassis has to move quite a bit. , tires on the ground = WOT time , and extra fun. (again its mostly due to the patented green paint ) the only way to get the awesome green paint is to buy some coilovers from JVAB, he coats em with the paint (created from pixies, and unicorns) and BAM, your coil overs will kick ass.

Also I know they are intended for Rally Use, BUT the car also felt great on a spirited drive of Highway 49. its a little 2 lane road that connects I80 to US-50
with a 55 speed limit and numerous recommended 10 mph turn signs. its SUPER twisty. car felt Great during that drive too, it really hugged the road and was great over the many Crests on that drive. (tires just hug the road , non stop)

I also took my lil Imp up a jeep trail shortly after install. Again these do great.

I'm looking forward to what should be a very fun Idaho Rally, now i only have one knob to twist (the steering wheel)

Yup, my thoughts exactly. The rougher the stage, the more impressive they are!

I need me a set.

Just sent a PM.
You know how much I love trying to hold coherent thoughts with hours and days between one of a series of questions and a partial answer.
Love it.
Must be like deep space missions with 2 day delays to radio messages.

I have ciggies, we should talk........

just picked up a sport wagon that needs new struts but would rather get jvab's than stock so is what we learned from this thread that jvab are good for road use?

Especially if you want to hit speedbumps at 60mph!

I loved the way mine were on the street, not too stiff, handled well in gravel spec

There is a school of thought that coilovers are generally a bad idea for road cars. The perch threads would need protection and cleaning regularly and the adjustability theat coilovers bring to the game is, generally, rarely used on a road car.

I know many people who have replaced their stock struts with Tokico D-Spec struts, myself included, and found them to be more than acceptable. Not as heavy duty as proper gravel spec suspension but the ride will also be more polite in every way.

I don't have direct experience with JVAB SBS, and I am sure part of the custom build would include 'street car' valving and springing, but the use of coilovers in the first place should be given some thought. (Keep in mind I am also in Alberta where the winters bring corrosion on threaded bodies)

Certainly worth talking with John about but also have a look around for the D-Specs.

So how much would a set of these run for a 94 legacy? The car I just got has KYB AGX's with ground control springs, not exactly the best rally setup. The Tokicos I have on my WRX with STI springs feel better than these AGX's. Would be nice to have a number to start budgeting towards.

If Bilstein ever gets the tubes for these ever again and if they keep prices steady, right around $2000.00

In almost every case its been done in 2-3 chunks to ease the pain of a big bite.
