the idea that Ive been brewing up since witnessing my first wrc event is ...
a tri-county wrc style rally that includes: a super special stage at either infinion raceway grounds or sonoma county fair grounds, and multi-day stage event covering marin, sonoma and napa back roads (including gravel of course) and do this by getting the local Mini-dealerships involved in sponsorship (and who ever else wanted to of course) ford? ...
as far as the wrc media people and managers - I am in contact with all of them

Beer and chicks... that'll save rally !
Wish that this site would have the "like" button... I would be tapping that now......

Some years ago i was explaining to a big group of Swedish rally guys and mechanics that I had been trying to push the idea of a rally club here and it was decided that the meetings were to be held in a Pizza joint, some chain like Godfather or whatever and I told them when i got there I discovered to my horror that there was no beer.....instantly all the guys are turning to eachother and saying "what the hell did he say? I think it sounded like there was no beer" and others were saying "No no you heard right, sounds insane but you heard right" So one guy who had a long face and his lower lips was quyivering, he puts his hand on my shoulder and asks with a very soft voice "Your poor thing......why? WHY?!!!"

I told them i was just as shocked and raised a stink and i was told "Well its a family place, we need to think of the kids"

"But, but but there are no kids here. besides, there's one immutable fact that worldwide rally runs on beer! there has to be beer!!!"

The whole mood was somber, the Swedes were just shaking their heads and saying stuff like "that's so terrible" and 'unbelievable" and "that's cruel"

It was, of course hilarious. And they all decided if that's they why it is no wonder it is small time thing here.

So little has changed.

It should be required!

I heard Rally America is going to save rally by anonymously threatening people putting videos on YouTube that weren't taken in approved spectator locations.

Not sure, just know there's some scuttlebutt on Facebook and "the other place".

I read that AutoWeek article that quoted Fogg:

He plans to keep the series' administration structure intact but is putting a “large emphasis on our digital asset strategy,” meaning more Internet video.

But I guess I didn't know before exactly exactly how that large emphasis would work.

I found it.
Wished i hadn't.
Immediate thought: is it excess cocaine or meth that has caused these sort of "policy" decisions.

Because certainly it must be one or the other.
