On an open light car?

Find your local Subaru club, or go an Nasioc.

Find someone selling almost brand new motor mounts out of their WRX or STi, because they have changed them to something fancy. If you pay more than a 12-pack something is wrong.

If you really feel like spending $$$, get the Group-N mounts, which are available almost anywhere, just google.

i aquired a 1990 Galant GSX for 400 bucks before i left the states. Going to play around with that some as a daily driver when i get home. Its basically the same thing as a VR-4 galant just less the turbo. Perhaps in time it might see stage, im sure it will be rallycrossed / driven in agst in the mountains.

This is another great piece from William. We beat the crap out of it at PFR - no problems. Will do it again at Mt. Hood.

So, back to the original car that started this post.

Just got back from LSPR. The lack of prep showed up at this rally. Issues with exhaust hangers, even though they were new, they weren't up to POR standards. Old ignition wires were shorting out. The speed sensor was never sorted properly, which is causing issues with the ECU and the rally computer. The weak-ass rear suspension arms didn't fold up, but they can't really be called straight anymore. The oil cap, dipstick and wiper linkage all came loose.

The mechanical parts of the engine worked great. The transmission that Brianne put into a new case and cried while trying to set the lash worked great. Thanks to any of you guys that contacted her with assistance through email/FB.

The tires (thanks to Libra Racing), wheels, brakes, struts, camber plates, skid plates, and STi steering all worked great.

The defroster and lights need some more work to be their best.

We did have a hard hit on a jump and bent the ears on one of the rear struts. And we found that the 4.44 diff in the car gave up the ghost during the practice stage and had to swap it out for our only spare before the event.

Despite all that Brianne and Jeremy pushed the car to two first place class finishes and a 10th and 7th overall finishes. Combined they were first in class and 6th overall. Brianne also won the Regional Rally Cup Championship for her class - the shootout for all the regional champs.

Are 4.44s prone to failure on a stock RS motor? are you thinking it was a fluke or just bound to happen?
