I don't suppose anyone bothers to define leak proof, do they? If my pump outlet starts leaking and filling up my leak-proof pump case, eventually I have a case full of fuel pressurized to >43 psi. I'd prefer something designed to leak to the outside of the car to ensure it can't leak to the inside. |

well nothing is really perfect, but i think my idea would work just fine. The other option would be the spare tire well, but that requires more work. I already have said ammo box. And thats just bolts in.

also intercooler wise, i suppose i would go with another option then.
BUT fate has intervened. Rally America said no to my Group 5 waiver, so the turbo is coming off for now anyway it seems. horrah 110hp First Rally: 2010 First RallyX: 2004 (a bunch) Driver (0), Co-Driver (7) Organizer (3), Volunteer (3) Cars Built (2.5), Engines Blown (2) Cages Built (0) # of rotations (3.5) Last Updated, Apr 9, 2023 |

Didya tell them you weren't just some co-driver but were in fact a has-been-extrme skier? or did backflips on rad-ass tricycles while wearing rain gear and swim finns? Do you email/call or did you have your media management agent negotiate a deal with them? And you say smoke da spliff a lot and you're rich? If you did, I don't see why the would refuse? Dont let it keep you back, Adam runs about that kind of power in his corolla. Also some old timers once said, (gene I think actually, and other too) learn to go fast in a slow car. "Rally racing makes a heroin addiction look like a vague craving for something salty" |

But there is a huge presumption in that statement and that is that somebody doesn't know how to drive. How do we know everybody doesn't know how to drive and therefore they need to learn? And ultimately, sooner of later, its just the way things go that people will one day need to learn how to learn to deal with a faster (stronger engine and shorter gearing) car. Sooner. Or later. Why not learn restraint---the problem most amateurs have---sooner? John Vanlandingham Sleezattle, WA, USA Vive le Prole-le-ralliat www.rallyrace.net/jvab CALL +1 206 431-9696 Remember! But who right out of the box knows how to rally? Sure we have slid on gravel here and there and played on dirt in someones back yard. But I don't know many that come to rally with some vast dirt driving knowledge.
And because restraint isn't something you are thinking about in the middle of stage, it's all go go go when you are a newbie, restraint can be forced by an underpowered car. Then you can learn what the car is going to do when you do this or that rather then learning that along with restraint. As we learn in our newbie meetings, a rally driver loses all but 3 brain cells when he sits in a car, one each for turning, braking and the gas, no spares for restraint. I had an all metal urs4 cooler but have no idea where it went. The 5k IC isn't the worst thing in the world. it's small and with some fabbed endtanks would work. I was offering it for free anyways, and free don't hurt much.
Bummer on the license, why don't you run a couple of the non RA events, you do have quite a few options. |

Elaborate as to which ones? Obviously, Idaho. Mt. Hood is still NASA? NNR, Mendocino, Seed 9 are RA. (As are Oregon Trail and Oly, obviously) Does canadia allow nervous novices in tarbo cars? KF7RWG http://www.utahrallygroup.com |

From what I've seen, a lot of beginners still need to learn restraint even when driving poorly geared, low power cars. First Rally: 2001 Driver (7), Co-Driver (44) Drivers (16) Clerk (10), Official (7), Volunteer (4) Cars Built (1), Engines Built (0) Cages Built (0) Last Updated, January 4, 2015

Yeah but it's like a grisly charnelhouse. Bodies shredded, oceans of blood but there's no freedom in Canada and the Government controls everything so all the long lists of people blown into hamburger meat at every event is suppressed. It's all been gone over dozens of times, take a stock little 1.6 BP or whatever, but any turbo on it and it's end like at 1:02-1:03 and 4:27 on <embed src= That was taken at rally events where because there were little tiny turbos on otherwise stock cars it was a slaughter, and it was smuggled out of Canada. At present, and in the foreseeable future, there are no restrictions on new drivers at CARS events. It is, however, a somewhat regular topic of discussion. (but don't confuse regular with frequent.) I was under the impression that nevada was independent like idaho, however I just checked the sups and you are right. Prescott and gorman, and high desert trails were the other ones I was thinking of. |
