Getting into another issue, Jon, we might have to take the coilovers off and adjust the ears.... I just cant get more camber, and max in im sitting at maybe 4 degrees Positive. There isnt much metal to gain by drilling the hole much more forward. I could do what the ford racing thing said, but i dont think that will get me to the 1/2 to 1 degree negative I need.

At one point, I was an engineer in charge of all soldering processes at a large electronics manufacturer... Properly done soldering (with the right materials, equipment, and technique) is very, very reliable.

However, even with that knowledge - My own soldering usually lacks one of the above elements and is just OK. However, I still did it on lots of stuff.

At least, I soldered a lot until I finally learned how to do crimp connectors properly. You definitely need to pick up the right connectors and crimp tool Then, they work great and are easier than soldering for sure.

Fitted the studs for the pump plate, mounted the fuel filter, and start to size the -6AN lines in for the fuel array. Summit (Russell) brand hoses are living nightmare to assemble and I will only buy Earls (Jegs) next time. Going to mark and measure and pay a place in town to deal with assembling those things.

Also, most of the brakes lines are done. need a Master Cylinder to bias line, and a line to go to the axle that is flexible.

Also I mounted the foot switch for the horn on the co-driver foot rest. A similar switch will go on the other side for wipers/sprayer activation.

good for you, that's kind of the approach i took with my mazda. simply get it running, then worry about turbos and all sorts of other awesomeness later. once its a driver, then let your brain wander about thinking of whooshing turbos and the psht of a blow off valve. smiling smiley

well after talking to matt about our shared camber issues, i think we came up with an idea of extending out the lower ball joint.

So I dont see any issue with running a VW coolant overflow ball thing, T'ed into the coolant pipe from the lower coolant outlet of the engine which has a same diameter hose running to the heater core.... maybe i should get a picture.

They great except the outlet bung breaks off.
The "default' expansion tank is either Volvo 240 n.a. flat thang or Volvo turbo cylindrical thang--never break.

and No56

3/4" outlet so grab the Volvo outlet hose. Look around and there's a variety of whacked out shapes and lengths..

VW was always first choice for stuff-n-stuff but wreckers here and in Sweden say "VWs break, don't have a one in da yard, da yepp, da yepp, but Volvo tanks never break"

Yeah the OEM hose necks down to 5/8".
I use those on everything. Saabs V4 to 6,2 diesel van, Opels, VWs, seen then on MkII escorts, everything.

since i recanted the turbo, i need to fit a header. Trying to see if an aftermarket 1.6 header will clear, but in the picture below you can see my motor mount. which is close to the original in location but also comes straight across as opposed to down. probably going to take a 150 dollar gamble and find out.
