What about running slighty longer bumpstops to slow(?) or limit full compression travel?

is that the good one? sounds like you should swap the 2.2 to the good car cause it's not nearly as slow as the 1.8.

here is the parts car

the 1.8 runs great but it needs an axle
i may run replace the axle and drive it before swapping engines

i do have a low milage 2.2 in my legacy complete with all sort of new parts

Depending on generations, you can swap the 2.2 bottom end and use the 1.8 intake manifold for a quick and easy swap with no wiring or otherwise since everything is still 1.8.

if you are going to swap at least get all the improvement that you can. It's easy to swap the engine harness, just have to swap the plug for the throttle or IAC (secret: the pins should be the same, just have to swap the plastic portion of the plug). and the throttle body coolant lines are different, might have to carry over an emissions valve, not hard. we're not talking about a lot of power but look how small the 1.8 throttle body is compared to the 2.2 it has to make some difference.

Ok, so it's not really build related, but Brianne bought another coupe. This one was a FWD auto with completely blown rear struts.

Why suspension is important.

Totally related! Now she needs to buy one with struts without springs and show the car dragging its tail with nothing to hold it up!
