Oooh, I finally got out into the garage this weekend.

Finished the following.

- Tack welded the rear wheel studs to the hubs so they will stop backing out.

- Welded a new captive nut in place for the lower rear strut mount on the drivers passenger side.

- Switched back to the gravel springs in the rear.

- Removed the airbag LED from the gauge cluster, just say no to idiot lights.

- Also removed the check engine light from the cluster. This is my work around for the EVAP emissions system issues.

Well - tranny is all good and well. Found out that the replacement tranny had been bashed and slightly deformed the casing. The flywheel teeth were blocked as they were dug into the casing.

We cut a piece of the casing out - and voila - all good.

Lesson: Never...pull the tranny in with bolts - it should mate up just pushing it in.

Now, no boost sad smiley only 5/6 psi.

Found the restrictor was in sideways yawning smiley - took that out and we're getting a full 15 psi of boost smiling smiley Who needs no stinkin' restrictors anywayz?

I looked at it. Put some 89 tail lights on it. Patched some cracks in the radiator with Quick Steel. Considering covering the entire assembly with Quick Steel.

Oh yeah. Got a new job which looks to pay me enough to actually get started. tongue sticking out smiley

I got up at 6:30 and fought traffic down to the wrecking yards in surrey.

Checked up on the new power plant for the rallycar, a 20-valve 5-cylinder. I got lucky, and its' an early build so it comes with the factory stainless-steel tubular header.

It took us three hours to remove the ECU, engine harness and accessories (lights, alternator, radiator fan, etc) harness.

After getting it home and hanging it on the hoist...I spent two hours cleaning power-steering fluid and dirt off the left-side of the engine. Ugh.

I take it, from the lack of a 2nd phone call, that you got the heater core and blower assembly out ok?

Got the restrictor back from the machinist and drilled some holes to seal it. mmmmmm brand new VF34. Gently prodded my man to tidy up the wiring under the dash, figure out the wiring for the remote starter and plumb in some guages. I go to vancouver this week. then I come back, we button it up and start tuning the new motor. 2.something L, 9:1 comp with 25psi. This thing may actually rock hard.

Rally does not suck today.

"Whew, you've been at it quite a while - keep thumpin it - you're almost there "

Lol, yeah. I pulled the car into strip it down and do the motor swap right about the time I cut my income by 2/3rds. Hmmm...those two haven't made a good combination! tongue sticking out smiley

No worries though, the income is back up and the motivation returned about a month ago. She'll be running before too long.

At this point, the whole cage is out-of-date enough that it needs to pulled and redone. Based on finances the car is destined to be my track toy, rallyx toy and navex beast for a while longer yet.

I replaced a brake line and bled the brakes. Washed the rally car, removed some gay decals, and took it for a little spin. Will be rewiring the lights and other fun stuff next weekend, after we run the 24 Hours of Lemons race this weekend.

Well, over the weekend I finished the fuel tank skidpan, got the car down off the rotiseri and fabbed the seat bracket assembly. Don't sound like much but it is nice to have the car back at a workable height!

Ok - 2 front sooper bitchin suspenders are in - now I need to set alignment and toe.

This required some cuttin' and filing - but it looks pretty good.

Will install the rear suspenders tonight as well.
